Hi, my name is Wasja (31) and I would be honored to take care of your lovely pet friends. Tim and I, we love cats and dogs. Wasja knows what it's like to take care of the little friends. She's used to living with all kinds of animals (3 cats, a dog, a bunny, a parakeet and even a goose, all living in one house simultaneously) and spend time around the bigger ones (cows, sheep, horses) growing up on the countryside. Tim cannot help but stop and be a friend to every cat or dog that comes near him. It's amazing how dogs or cats he's never seen before, within no time, start rolling on their back. It's like he puts a spell on them. We both work full time, but not very far from home, so during working days we won't be gone longer than around 9 hours (see dates in calender).
The greyhound in the picture is Daisy, who lives with my dad in Amsterdam. We picked her up
from the dog shelter, where she was scared of pratically everyone and everything, even more than usual for these alert breeds. Wasja spend the first week just stitting next to her, taking the time and patience to win her trust. Ever since this beauty stole our hearts. Daisy loves to go out to the beach, forest, parc or anywhere where she can run and play with other dogs. It's a treat if occasionally we bring Daisy to Brussels over during the holidays or a long weekend. Same goes for the visits of my mum's energetic fox terrier, Patou. He loves to explore the neighbourhood for the best dog walking areas.
But usually it is just the 2 of us humans. Unfortunately our schedule does not allow us to take care of pets of our own full time, as much as we would like to. That's why we hope Pawshake allows us to spend time around these lovely creatures. While our household is half Belgian-half Dutch, we speak both French, Dutch and English.
Our apartment (1st floor, by stairs) has enough space for animals to chill and relax with an open connection from living room, dining room until kitchen. We have small balcony that we usually open during the sunny days. Yet it's the bigger Parc de Duden, Parc the Forest and L'Abbeye de Saint Denis (only a short 10 minute uphill walk away from our home) that offer the full greens for nice walks outside and some company of other neighbourhood dogs. A full round in each of these parcs usually takes up to one hour or more. For us, being outside with an animal is ok under any weather condition, even when it's cold or rainy. During the weekend we like to go out on long hikes to the forest or beach and are happy to take a little friend with us (by car or train).
We're still quite new to Pawshake but certainly not new to taking care of pets of our own. So if we could help you out and take care of your cat or dog for a bit, the pleasure would be ours. We'll welcome them in our home with overnight stay and / or help out with dog walking if that's more convient for you.
Wasja and Tim were fantastic! Hands down the best catsitter I have ever had. From the very first meeting they took their time with my cats, without any hurry. I was impressed they actually had a written list of questions for me. During the week I was away, I received photos of my cats everyday and also an update on how they were doing. They were so nice to my cats that even Chip who doesn't like anyone and always hides under the pillows in my bedroom used to go out to the living room to watch them, and the last day he actually went out to play! I think when I came home my cats were surprised it was not the catsitter, and that's says it all. Definately will be asking Wasja and Tim to catsit in the future.
Wasja and her bf Tim took care of tommy in such a way that I can’t be anything but grateful. Tommy is a rescued dog from the streets so he has some habits that are a bit annoying but they had were patient and will to make it work. When you let your pet with them, they will dedicate all their effort to make your pet feel safe and at home. I recommend them completely
