Hi, I'm Sarah. I've been pet-sitting for many years, not only on Pawshake but also via Trusted Housesitters, and really enjoy it. I’ve taken care of small and big dogs, old and young, needy, nervous, cuddly, sleepy, energetic - I love them all :)

I am used to making them feel at ease, and I can also administer medication if needed. I’ve had to deal with diarrhoea accidents and all kinds of unforeseen stuff, and don’t mind any of it. The dog’s wellbeing always comes first for me, and I treat them like they were my own.

I’ve had dogs myself for about 15 years, mainly senior shelter dogs I adopted together with my former partner, and I’ve been the go-to sitter for friends and family for years. The most difficult case was Arturo, a rescue from Portugal, who had lived in a cage for the entire 8 years of his life. It was a challenge but also extremely rewarding, to see him feel joy and love for the first time. I still can’t believe how loving and gentle he was despite having lived such a life.

I have a soft spot for all animals. I grew up with cats, and I have been cat-sitting for a friend in Paris the last summers. I also take care of my parents’ cats when they go on holiday - and I have become the regular sitter for a London cat :)

Additionally, I regularly help out at an animal sanctuary via the Workaway program. I learned how to care for pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, donkeys, and horses at an amazing place in Ireland called My Lovely Pig Rescue. I spent two months there and loved it so much that I returned several times.
